Upload documents
PDFs, Word files and text as knowledge sources
Supported formats
On Pro and Business plans you can add documents alongside the website crawl:
- PDF — manuals, spec sheets, policies
- Word documents (
.docx) - Plain text and Markdown files
Chatixy extracts the text, chunks it and adds it to the same knowledge base your crawled pages live in. When the agent uses a document in an answer it cites the source.
Uploading a document
Documents are processed within a minute or two of upload, and the agent starts using them immediately.

Open the Knowledge tab
Inside your project, switch to Knowledge.

Drop your files
Drag files in or click Upload and pick them from disk.

Wait for processing
Each file shows a status; Ready means the agent can use it.
Managing sources
Every source — crawled page or uploaded document — can be inspected and deleted individually from the Knowledge tab. Deleting a source removes its content from answers immediately.
Belangrijk
- Uploaded documents are not version-tracked: re-upload a file after editing it, then delete the old copy.
